HOT LOCAL ARTIST DEBUTS FRESH NEW LINE
AT VALENTINE’S DAY EVENT

Designer’s Valentine’s Day Wisdom: Nurturing Self As Important As
Nurturing Others

Pittsburgh, PA, February 6, 2006It is critical for women to learn to nurture themselves, not to just wait for love to come to them from outside. So believes Inna Nirenburg, owner and creative force at eeni-ren designs (www.eeni-ren.com). This is especially true around Valentine’s day, so the designer chose the Squirrel Hill Curves – a women’s gym (1701 Murray Ave., 2nd floor) – as the location from which to debut her new line of one-of-a-kind or limited-edition artist-made jewelry. The event, will be held on Monday, February 13th at from 3:30 to 7 p.m. (And men, of course, are also welcome.)

“Curves is such a perfect location for this event” says Nirenburg. “Valentine’s day can be a great time for women to feel nurtured. We usually think of others providing nurturing for us, but it can be so powerful for women to give themselves the gift of self-care. Exercise is a form of physical nurturing, and beautiful things, such as jewelry, can nurture the spirit.

eeni-ren designs’ new line features new work in silver, freshwater pearls, natural semi-precious stones, and high-quality glass. “I like to use quality materials, and to put them together in both classic and unexpected ways”, says Nirenburg. “There is so much jewelry out on the market today. I really wanted my work to stand out and speak for itself as a unique expression – not just of me, but also of the wearer.

The new line, alongside more classically elegant forms, features some unique and unusual pieces, including asymmetrical designs and multi-strand 3-dimensional creations. “Some of my work isn’t for everybody” says the Squirrel-Hill based designer. “It takes a more daring, creative person to pull off some of the more unusual designs. But I also enjoy improvising on a more classic style, with results that are less daring, but still eye-catching and expressive.

Inna Nirenburg has been studying and creating art in various media for over 20 years, and has focused her efforts through eeni-ren designs since 2003. Her work is represented in several local galleries, including the hot new Tresor Gallery, and in Gallerie Chiz, voted Best of Pittsburgh. She has also exhibited at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, as well as at several stores in the Boston area. In addition to her work at eeni-ren designs, she is also a life coach, working through her practice, “hey! What’s Next?” (www.heyWhatsNext.com).
